Glyceryl monostearate is prepared by esterification of long chain fatty acid (C16-C18) with glycerol, which is soluble in vegetable oil, hot ethanol, ether chloroform and acetone, but insoluble in water.

Fumei’s glyceryl monostearate is white and odorless with high purity. It is a nonionic emulsifier, which can be used as a stabilizer for ointments, and as a sustained-release matrix for solid preparations.
